About 18th Street Software

18th Street Software was started in 2003 by Mike Arace to market and support his HedgeCode software, a 4th generation language, application server, and client platform which had (and has) the potential to change the world, or at least the way computer software is created...

Or at least that was the idea. While still in development on HedgeCode, Mike had the opportunity to work with a friend of his on a simple website for a local record shop. One thing led to another, and the end result was the BananaPanel: a web services-based, hosted platform for website management. Suddenly, 18th Street Software had a new application to support. We redesigned the website and officially organized the company into 18th Street Software, LLC, in 2005.

We have evolved into a flexible group of professionals, brought together by our commitment to integrity and a genuine love of the work that we do. We are a small, independent company, and know that our customers' success is our own.

We're still pretty sure that we can change the world.

Principals

Michael Arace, President Mike is the President of 18th Street Software. He has many years of experience in programming, starting at age 14 when he used to purchase books on C and C++ with his lawnmowing money. After college, he has played a leading role in several web development projects with database backends, for both private sector and govenment clients. At 18th Street, he is also responsible for business development and managing the sales and marketing activities.
